We met up with the Laiewski and Hamilton family in Charleston May 8 for Amanda's cousin, Alex's, wedding. Halle and James were a part of the wedding, so we enjoyed the rehearsal party Friday night and the wedding and reception Saturday night. The weather was beautiful as was The Citadel, the college where the wedding took place.

Alex and Ryan's Wedding in Charleston
We met up with the Laiewski and Hamilton family in Charleston May 8 for Amanda's cousin, Alex's, wedding. Halle and James were a part of the wedding, so we enjoyed the rehearsal party Friday night and the wedding and reception Saturday night. The weather was beautiful as was The Citadel, the college where the wedding took place.
Easter festivities
We enjoyed seeing the "Easter Bunny" at the Bluffton Children's Parade and at a local church's egg hunt. Halle and James did not want to get near the bunny, but Hayes was very excited to touch the bunny and give the bunny a high five. Easter morning, the kids found baskets filled out in the backyard. Halle and James liked their spring jackets, and Hayes looked so cute in his madris plaid pants. James was excited about his Thomas engine and Halle loved her Princess fishing game.

Hayes is 10 Months Old
Hayes cut his first two teeth the first week of May. His top, front teeth came in first instead of the bottom two like Halle and James. He favorite things to do right now are open and close things (especially cabinets), crawl up stairs, pet animals, and try to touch lit light bulbs (nightlights in particular). He can stand on his own and will occasionally take one step and then sit down. He loves to knock down blocks. He can say "ma ma, da da," and "dog". He has recently started a high pitched squeal. He continues to be a happy, smiley baby. Halle and James are so good to him.

Bike race in Beaufort
Halle and James competed in a kids' bike race to kick off a professional road bike race in Beaufort one Tuesday in April. Halle was the first girl to finish in the youngest kid's race and James was right behind her. Hayes had the most fun crawling around the steps in the amphitheatre at Waterfront Park.We enjoyed dinner outside near the water and then watched the professional men's road race. As the men raced by, it felt like a gust of wind was blowing on us. It was amazing to see how fast they moved.
James and the alligator
James was brave enough to pose for many pictures with an alligator relaxing a few yards away. Daddy was the photographer. Mama was surprised to see how close the alligator was in the pictures!
Visiting Pinckney Island
We live about 5 miles from this beautiful nature preserve on the intercoastal waterway. We packed a picnic lunch and the double stroller and headed out one April morning for a little adventure. We held snails, watched fiddler crabs crawling in and out of their holes, saw a racoon headed into the marsh as well as many birds in the trees. Dan and James found a hidden lagoon with a big alligator and a surprise butterfly garden.
